Interview with author Michele Sponagle

Michele Sponagle quite literally wrote the book(s) on Corner Gas. She is the author of Tales from Dog River and Dog River Confidential.  Two books Jules and I reference in the podcast all of the time.

If you ever wanted to know how many times Oscar says “jackass” in an episode, or what an actors favorite episode is her work books are required reading.

From her website:

I’ve been writing and editing for decades, or at least, it feels that way because I’ve covered a lot of ground in my career. I thought I was going to grow up and be an advertising copywriter, but my love of print media took over. I took my first job in the business as a junior-nothing-nobody at Maclean’s magazine, followed by slightly more elevated editorial position at Flare. I was laid off in the ’90s as the recession hit. Armed with a slim writing portfolio, I managed, by some miracle, to snag freelance assignments for Chatelaine, Canadian Living and The Toronto Star. I was on my way to becoming a bona fide freelance writer.

If you have a project, you’d like to get going, have a story that needs to be written, require advice on freelancing, or just want to say hi, just send me an email. I look forward to connecting with you.
